we are

Hi! We are Kamee & Herb — the husband-and-wife team behind Soil and Summits, a journey through global peaks, local eats, building our family winery, and the everyday beauty of a life rooted in purpose.

Our story begins on Herb’s family ranch that was established in the 1800’s, a piece of California history we’re proud to steward and preserve for the generations still to come.

Herb and Kamee, a vineyard manager and a winemaker, have been in the wine industry for 26 vintages. We have grown and crafted award winning wines in all of California’s celebrated growing regions from Santa Barbara to Napa and beyond. Winemaking is more than a career to us, it’s a lifestyle built around patience, place, and passion.

When we’re not tending vines or crafting wines, you’ll find us out on the trail. We’ve hiked through the dramatic peaks of New Zealand, the wilds of Patagonia, and the volcanic terrain of Chile. Closer to home, we’re making our way through the U.S. National Parks: one summit, one step, one shared sunrise at a time.

Soil and Summits is where our worlds meet; where our love of land, wine, and wild places come together. This is our space to share the highs and lows, the dirt and the joy, and everything in between.
